Del was diving with Dick Jappe and Frank Hopps. This team would enjoy many wins together.
Del's team won this competition by one pound. The Long Beach Neptunes called for a re-weigh, Del's team agreed and still won.

Del was the individual winner in this competition.

John - Del - Howard
I really enjoyed teaming up with John and Howard. You had to put a net over John to hold him down. Howard! Well you had to run like hell just to keep up. This was a well-matched team. We could go deep 80 - 90+, or shoot the hell out of them 20 - 40. Like Art Pinder said, "you have to be able to go where the fish are, "RIGHT ON!!!"
