The Kingfishers Club - Del and Harley

1951
The Kingfishers at Point Ferman, California.
Del said the Kingfishers knew every cave, rock and where every fish lived!
This is where the GLACD held the 1951 elimination meets. The Kingfishers dove it all year.

1954
Kingfishers prepared to compete at Cabrillo Beach.
Del Wren and the Kingfishers can be seen on the far left Del is sitting.
In the center is the Muirmen team of Frank Hopps, Dick Jappe and Bill Willcox.
The gun would sound, the divers, all starting from shore would battle their way through each other and the surf. Many teams and individual divers never made it! The team with the inflatable raft just to the right of center never made it out!

Well, lets see, should I go north or should I go south???

1950
Del's 1930 Model A, hauling their surplus 16 foot UDT rubber boat.
They pushed this boat around with a 15-horse power, Johnson outboard motor.
They dove in all kinds of weather and all of the Kingfishers Club went diving together.
